Show where people are, and let them check the size.

Add a floor plan to a 3D splat scene and it becomes a minimap that follows the visitor. Turn on visitor measurements and people can check distances and areas themselves, in metres or feet.

Four ways to get a plan into the tour

01

Draw it

  • Walls, doors, windows, objects and labels, with snapping.
  • Add linear and area measurements to the plan itself.
02

Import a reference

  • Use an existing plan image or PDF as an underlay and trace over it.
  • Import walls, doors and windows from Spatial Lens on iPhone.
03

Generate a top view

  • Frame a top-down view of the splat and trace the floor outline.
  • Generate an AI top-view reference image from it, using credits.
  • It is a reference to trace, not an automatic plan from video.

Measuring inside a splat

Visitor measurements are off by default. Turn them on when you publish a 3D scene.

Common questions

Can Spatial Studio make a floor plan automatically from video?

No. You draw the plan, trace an imported image or PDF, import it from Spatial Lens, or trace over an AI top-view reference generated from the splat.

How accurate are measurements in a splat tour?

They depend on the scale of the reconstructed scene. They are good for judging size and fit. They are not a survey and should not be used as one.

Can visitors measure in 360 panorama scenes?

No. Visitor measurements work in 3D splat scenes.

Do visitors need an account to measure?

No. Measurements work in the published tour and are kept in the visitor’s own browser.
